| 494 | hello again. i do apologize for the constant questions. i do apologize for getting my terms wrong. learning Gor has been very exciting but also ALOT. i have been with my Master for 3 years now. The switch from stricly Master/slave bdsm sytle to Gor has been something of discussion for a ling while now as he is Gor and i was not. The more i learn the more i love it.... I understand the no contract or safe word thing. I completely trust my Master in that aspect and have actaully never once used it in our relationship. I am excited to learn the poses as some coincide with BDSM poses. our next steps is the "branding" but in tattoo form due to my skin. i find it beautiful and absolutely honor the privilage to wear such a thing.
My next question is i suppose... why is being Gor so frowned upon... i told a friend i was Kajira and she absolutely looked horrified.... to me... i feel most at peace with it especially when with Master
Answer
When someone with only a passing knowledge of alternate lifestyles hears of BDSM;
They hear of the (usually) girl being a "submissive". (which sounds soft and cuddly)
They hear of phrases like "Safe, Sane and Consensual". (which sounds like grown adults gave this much thought)
They hear that there is a safe word. (what could go wrong?)
They hear that the scene only lasts for an evening or a weekend. (and then you're back home, back to work, back to church, back with family - all is well)
They believe the submissive gifts her respect to the Master and the Master respects the submissive.
BDSM is just two consenting adults having a little kinky fun.
When someone hears of Gorean;
They hear of the girl being a "slave". (and all the negative social connotations that go with that word)
They do not usually hear of phrases like "Safe, Sane and Consensual". (and therefore believe the slave is held against her will, in grave danger or just simply insane)
They do not hear of a safe word. (and so great bodily injury is sure to happen)
They hear that the slave has moved in with the Master or vise versa. (the slave has been brainwashed)
They hear the slave has submitted to an arraignment of Total Power Exchange.
Gorean is a poor defenseless girl, chained to the floor, tortured relentlessly and abused beyond belief by some poorly educated, dim-witted, molester who is probably on parole.
