Love Flourishes On Gor!

This is my narrative on the topic of love.
I make no pronouncements on these matters, but report them as I find them.
Arrive at your own conclusions.

I wish you well,
Fogaban

What's love got to do, got to do with it?
What's love but a secondhand emotion?
What's love got to do, got to do with it?
Who needs a heart when a heart can be broken?

From Wikipedia:
The song was written by Terry Britten and Graham Lyle.
"What's Love Got to Do with It" is a song recorded by the American singer Tina Turner, released in 1984. It was taken from her fifth solo album, Private Dancer, and became Turner's most successful single.

I am reminded of the essay written by Marcus_of_Ar A Letter To The Lost, in which he describes many things that Gor is not. He then concludes that actually, Gor is love.
You can read his essay here.

I did not fully comprehend the magnitude of that essay until I researched this topic. Indeed, love is intertwined throughout Gor. And without love, Gor would not be . . . Gor.

On the other hand, Gor is not all lovie dovie. While love is predominate across Gor, it does not preclude the structure of the Master/slave relationship.

Love on Gor does not purchase a girl lenience; it does not mitigate her bondage, nor compromise her servitude, but rather renders it the more complete, the more helpless and abject.

Gorean masters are seldom lenient with their slaves. They may love their slaves, but they treat them as slaves.

On the left, scan through the many, many . . . many subtopics on love I have complied for this page.

I will tell you now that rarely have I included much context surrounding a quote.
Should you wish to better understand the setting, open your own copy of that book and read the paragraphs, if not the chapter, from which the quote was taken.
