201 | I am looking for the quotes that name cities that were once ruled by a Tatrix. Somewhere I am sure I read that Ko-ro-ba was once ruled by a Tatrix and her mate, though it might have been Ty. Now I can't find either reference, can you help me please? I thank you for all the effort you have put into the amazing resource!!!
Answer I find only two cities ever to be ruled by a Tatrix, Tharna and Corcyrus.
Ok, there is also the possible exception of the Panther Girl Verna as Tatrix of the forests. (yeah, Verna is a stretch of an example)
That is, a female ruler of a city with the title of Tatrix. If you are asking about any female ruler, that would also include the title of Ubara.
In that case, there is also Talena, Ubara of Ar. Even if she was installed as such under the auspices of Cos.
I wish you well,
Fogaban
Lara, Tatrix of Tharna
Outlaw of Gor Book 2
There were many things supposedly strange about Tharna, among them that she was reportedly ruled by a queen, or Tatrix, and, reasonably enough in the circumstances, that the position of women in that city, in contrast with common Gorean custom, was one of privilege and opportunity.

"And who is Lara?" I asked.
"Tatrix of Tharna," he said.

There was a new Tatrix in Tharna.
"Who is the new Tatrix?" I asked.
"Dorna the Proud," said the slave, who tumbled onions, turnips, radishes, potatoes and bread into the feed trough.

Sheila, The Tatrix Of Corcyrus
(both the real Sheila and her stand-in, Tiffany Collins)
"From this moment on," said the girl, "accustom yourself to thinking of yourself as Sheila, Tatrix, of Corcyrus."
"Sheila, Tatrix of Corcyrus?" I said.
"Yes," said the girl.
"What is a Tatrix?" I asked.
"A female ruler," she said.

Verna was no longer a pretend man, or a pretend nothing. She was now full and perfect in what she was, in her own right, a human female, a woman. She walked well. She might have been a Tatrix. Indeed, she was, though braceleted and collared, a Tatrix of the forests.

"How could this Talena become Ubara of Ar?" I asked. "I thought she was sworn from the line of Marlenus."
"She can be given legal entitlement to the succession," said a fellow. "I have heard it discussed."
"Not as of the line of Marlenus," I said.
"No," he said. "But one need not be of the line of Marlenus, surely, to rule in Ar."
"Minus Tentius Hinrabius and Cernus, both, ruled in Ar," said a man. "Neither was of his line."
"That is true," I said.
"She is a free citizen," said a man. "Accordingly, she could be given such entitlement."

It was now some two months since the entry of Myron into the city and the subsequent triumph of Lurius of Jad, celebrated a day later in his name by Myron, the Polemarkos, in which triumph he, Myron, acting as proxy for Lurius of Jad, was joined by Seremides and Talena, and several weeks after the ascension of Talena to the throne of Ar, as Ubara. Her coronation may have been somewhat less spectacular than Myron's entry into the city and Lurius' subsequent triumph, which may have grated upon her somewhat, but I think it had been impressive enough. The crown of Tur leaves was placed upon her head by Myron, but on behalf of the people and councils of Ar. Seremides and most members of the High Council were in attendance.

"She," said Talena, Ubara of Ar, "she is chosen."

"I am your Ubara!" cried Talena.
"You are a Cosian puppet!" said Claudia.
