 Q #  Question
14
"I was told that FW were not allowed to crack a whip. I recall a few passages where a FW did. I mentioned this and was told, certainly not in the pressence of Men... Is this true?"

Answer
Hello,

At first I thought this request too general for research. But after searching for the words "crack" and "whip" I found a couple instances where a woman does indeed 'crack a whip' and in the presence of men.

The first is where the Lady Tima is auctioning off Jason in Book 14, Fighting Slave of Gor. It is mentioned on page 156 that there are guards present to keep order.

"I could see, to my surprise, that several of the women were alarmed. In the back of the tiers I saw two guards, with spears, go to the top of one of the aisles, whence they might descend quickly into the tiers if it should be necessary."

As Tima is on stage, it is plain that she cracks her whip, obviously in sight of and in the presence of the guards.

"The Lady Tima, suddenly, cracked her whip, the blades, loud, snapping in a staccato burst of leather, almost at my ear, the crowd instantly still, its attention arrested, stunned, alert."

Then, in Book 21, Mercenaries of Gor, a tavern owner is presenting to Tarl some girls for his attention. Again, it is obvious the woman cracks her whip in the immediate presence of Tarl.

"The woman cracked her whip again and the girls inadvertently cringed and shrank back. They were slaves, and knew well that sound. Two of them had even cried out in fear. The woman then went to the line. "Straighten your bodies," she said. "You are in the presence of a man." She touched more than one with the whip coils, adjusting her posture, and, with the coils, lifted up the chin of another. Then she turned to me. "These are available," she said. "Perhaps you find one or more of them pleasing?"
I surveyed the women.
"Such," she said, "are fit for men."
"Yes," I said."
