451 | I looked and didn't see this referenced. When a measurement is given in inches and feet, should those be figured to be Earth measurements and that the only time they are Gorean measurements is when referred to as horts, Gorean feet, pasang, and so on?
Answer
Simply by the use of the word inches, it would stand to reason the measurement is not horts. When feet are meant to be interpreted as Gorean feet, it's usually mentioned, something like this:
The bars of the pen were some three or four horts in thickness, and six horts apart; they reached from the wooden flooring of the shed to the low roof; they were reinforced with crossbeams lashed in place, one a foot Gorean from the ceiling, one a foot Gorean from the floor, and one, about three and a half feet Gorean from the floor, between them.
