All Goreans, used to believe the end of the world, the farthest west one could go, was to the Farther Islands. The Farther Islands were first mentioned in Book 12, Page 109 as referenced in the great mosaic map inlaid into the floor of the house of Samos. The Farther Islands are a scattered group of small islands just west of Cos and Tyros.
Then, in Book 30 we come to learn there are more, larger islands even further west of the Farther Islands, beyond the Vine Sea. And these are the islands of the Pani.
