Tal Master, I am sorry to trouble you but I hope you can help me. Where should I look to find how slaves are housed and treated prior to being sold, and what the markets and auctions are like? I worry that I am wasting your time, Master, and this is something you have already talked about but I do not read English well and may have missed it in another section. Thank you for helping me.

Answer

Slaves on Gor are sold in every variation one might imagine. It could be from the Curulean, the great auction house in Ar, to a simple transaction between two free people.

There is simply no standard way in which slaves are "housed and treated prior to being sold, and what the markets and auctions are like".

The Curulean is spoken of in Assassin of Gor. A lot of this is in chapters 9 and 19.

There are also purple-booth sales. These are mentioned, at least, in Players of Gor, chapter 2 and Witness of Gor in chapter 40.

And then one example of a simple sale is when Bosk buys a girl from Samos:

"What do you want for her?" I asked Samos.

He shrugged. "Four pieces of gold," he said.

"I will buy her," I said. I placed four pieces of gold in Samos' hand.
