 Q #  Question

Greetings, Master. mara has heard many slaves greeting Free Women of the jungle this way: Greetings, Huntress. Can you please research any quotes that would support this? (Calling a Mistress as Huntress). Thank you, Master

Answer

Hello,

You bring up a good question and one I had thought of myself but never researched.

The word Huntress is really only used two times that, in context, even come close being applicable. Interestingly one is speaking of Panther Girls and the other, Talunas.

But don't jump to conclusions, neither time is one of these Free Women addressed by the title of Huntress.

However, in the interest of being thorough, Panther Girls are described as "Strong women, huntresses". Notice the comma, which to me, denotes Panther Girls are Huntresses.

But nowhere does a slave ever say "Yes, Strong Woman" or "Yes, Huntress", instead of "Yes, Mistress".

"Who are panther girls?" she asked.

"Strong women, huntresses who frequent the northern forests," I said. "They enjoy selling feminine women like yourself."

Next we have the example of the Talunas. And it pretty much mirrors the example of the Panther Girls, including the comma.

Talunas are described as "free women, huntresses" but again, nowhere does a slave ever say "Yes, Free Woman" or "Yes, Huntress" instead of "Yes, Mistress".

Consider, too, the nature and condition of their garments. The garments are not ripped or torn. They show no signs of a struggle or of the abuse of their owner. Too, they are skins, of the sort which might be worn by free women, huntresses, not rep-cloth or bark cloth, not rags, of the sort which might be worn by slaves."

In conclusion, it is best to keep in mind that a Free Person might demand you refer to them as "The Man In The Moon" and you really have no choice (within the confines of your Owner) but to address the person as they so choose.

There is also, as shown above, quotes that could be molded into sketchy ideas which could then be stretched into odd shapes and used as proof that Free Women of the jungle should be addressed as Huntress. But not by reasonable, thinking people. The simple proof is just not there.
