Whether or not a slave can have honor has been a muchly debated subject.
Obviously a slave owns nothing, not even her name. There are those who then
say that this means a slave can have no pride or honor. Some have used this
quote to back that up.
"It is not uncommon for a girl who is even trivially displeasing to be
whipped. I looked at the large, handsome fellow. I had no honor to protect,
no pride to uphold, for I was slave."

However, taken to the extreme, this would mean she could have no reasoning
ability. However it makes much more sense that in any given situation a
slave can act or accomplish an action in different ways. In other words the
end result is the same but how the act is accomplished can be done so with
honor and respect. Following now are several quotes that prove beyond a
doubt that salves do indeed have honor.
